What story are you living? Do you tend to champion causes or lead the effort towards a goal? Are you drawn to acquire expertise and use knowledge? Are you seeking a calling that ignites your passion? The Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator® (PMAI™) is an instrument designed to help us understand the roles we prefer to adopt as we interact with friends, family, and coworkers.
The PMAI assesses twelve different common life roles in terms of archetypes—the universal structures that provide context and meaning to our life scripts. For example, Rulers will tend to exhibit leadership, while Sages will favor expertise. The PMAI also taps the Creator, Jester, Lover, Warrior, Caregiver, Seeker, Destroyer, Innocent, Orphan, and Magician archetypes. Through the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator, you can get a clear picture of the archetypes that influence your life and the actions you can take to better put these ideas to use and more tightly align these themes with your work, relationships, and life.
This one-day workshop provides professionals with the archetype tools needed for administration and interpretation of the PMAI instrument, for use with clients, employees, students, and others.
Workshop Objectives:
Practice administering, scoring and interpreting the PMAI instrument, developing strategies to understand the meaning of high, low and mid-range scores
Describe and learn to recognize the twelve defined archetypes and to use their characteristics to leverage self-awareness, growth and change—on the personal and group levels
Investigate the shadow side of archetypes and how this knowledge supports personal growth
Tuition Includes: A notebook of workshop materials; PMAI™ Manual; PMAI instrument; and Introduction to Archetypes booklet; Document of completion
Sample Class Exercise. Here, we provide data from a group being introduced to the Pearson-Marr Archetype Indicator™ (PMAI™). In the exercise, each workshop participant was asked to go to the 3 or 4 archetypes to which they most connected and answer the following: "When I am being guided by this archetype: What does it feel like? What motivates me when I am there? What does it look and sound like?" Link to March 2008 Class Output.
